Seven Surprising Signs He’ll Never Marry You
The tricky thing about womanizers is that they usually have their game down pat, which means it’s easy to get sucked in. Here are some of the subtle clues a guy has a case of commitment phobia. If he exhibits three or more of these, watch out.

1. All of His Exes Are “Crazy”
Be wary of a man who refers to his former girlfriends as crazy, psycho, or clingy — because what’s the common denominator here? Him. The dude’s either looney-bin glue, or he never really wanted the relationship to work in the first place.

2. He Plans Ultra-Romantic Dates
A cozy candlelit dinner is nice and all, but if he only takes you to secluded places, it could be a tip-off that he doesn’t want other women to spot him on a date. Next time he asks you out, suggest hitting up a busy restaurant or popular bar and see how he reacts.

3. He’s Hot and Cold on the Phone
He’ll text you 10 times in a night, then go MIA for days. He’ll chat on the phone for an hour, then ignore your messages for the rest of the week. Wondering what the heck is going on? We’re going to be brutally honest: He’s mostly likely busy dating other women.

4. He Guilt-Trips You
It’s normal for a guy to be jonesing to sleep with you from day one. But this behavior is a red flag if he a) lays the pressure on thick, or b) tries to make you feel bad if you choose not to get physical — like by giving you a sob story about how worked up he is without the release of sex.

5. Stuff Is Missing from His Facebook Profile
Has he untagged any photos of you and him? Does he post updates often, yet never mention hanging out with you? Is his relationship status hidden? We smell a rat. A guy who’s leery of commitment will make sure there are no traces of you on his page.

6. His Buddies Act Distant
Even though a player’s bros may be friendly enough, they probably won’t ask you many personal questions about your job, interests, etc. The ugly truth: They don’t want to invest time and energy getting to know you because they figure you’re not going to be around very long.

7. He Says You’re Soul Mates
Okay, we adore the idea of love at first sight — but too much too soon could also indicate sketchy intentions. If a dude comes on super strong right off the bat (we’re talking the first couple of weeks), telling you things like that he’s starting to fall in love with you, just make sure you play it safe and trust your gut. Those powerful words might be rolling off his tongue so smoothly because he’s spoken them so many times before.

GIRLS? You may not even realize all the messages your body language sends to a guy — before you even speak to him. Read our quick guide to body language signals, and next time you spot a cute guy, you’ll know exactly how to say “Hello, there” without uttering a single word.

1. Smiling coyly
“If you smile subtly — without showing your teeth — while your eyes are slightly narrowed, you’re telling a guy that you want to get to know him better,” James says. This signal is best used when you first meet someone.
2. Catching his eye and holding it for a couple of seconds
This is the most powerful weapon in your body-language-flirting arsenal, says Judi James, author of “The Body Language Rules: A Savvy Guide to Understanding Who’s Flirting, Who’s Faking, and Who’s Really Interested.” “If you hold his gaze for just a half second longer than the usual split-second gaze, and then you look down and back at him, it tells the guy that you’ve considered him and you like what you see,” James says. Try this move in a crowded bar or at a party.
3. Fixing your hair or your outfit
We do this when we’re aware that we’re being watched and we want to make sure we look our best, James says. Grooming gestures like these let him know that you’ve noticed he has checked you out.
4. Brushing his arm
This is a boundary-testing touch. “Men see this as the first gesture to physical intimacy,” James says. “You are inviting him to reciprocate and touch you in a similar way.”
5. Interacting with other people
Playing with a friend’s hair or touching a friend’s arm while you talk to him acts as a representation of how you touch. “These gestures tell a man that either he can be the recipient of your touching or he could be the one touching you in that way,” James says.
6. Looking away as you kiss, hug, or greet him
If you look around the room, at the door, or even at another guy when you say hello to a man, it tells him that you’re not that into him, says James. “You may even be on the lookout for someone else,” she adds.
7. Mimicking his movements
“Making subtle tweaks to mirror his movements shows him that you two are on the same page,” says James. Mirroring his movements may sound awkward or too obvious, but something as subtle as holding your drink at the same height as his is all it takes.
8. Folding your arms
“Classically, people see this is a barrier gesture that repels people,” James says. There are two different versions, each with its own meaning. “If your arms are folded in a self-hug, so that your hands touch your rib cage, it can imply that you’re feeling insecure or bored,” she says. “If your arms are folded so that your hands are on your biceps, you’re telling him that you’re not interested in talking.”
9. Making steady eye contact when he’s talking
“Giving him 100-percent eye contact when he’s talking, while also nodding to show that you’re listening, tells him that you value what he has to say,” James says. But you should look away briefly when you’re talking. “Too much prolonged eye contact when you speak can look intimidating or even dishonest.”

Let’s be real- all “good girls” (and guys) have “bad” sex and love it. You can be as glacially cool as the immortal icon of the 1950’s Grace Kelly, in public, but you act like an insatiable, adventurous, 1980’s Madonna in private. The outside you is nothing at all like the “you” in the bedroom or anywhere else you fulfill your sexual desires.

And guess what? You’re not alone. Seemingly demure, “proper” couples are being very, very naughty and having a hell of a great time.

Sex has always been an area of hot contention. In the not too distant past, religious edicts on what was and wasn’t acceptable, medical dictates of how sex could adversely affect your health gave misguided and totally far-fetched “rules.” Remember we’re talking about “experts” who once claimed horrid things would happen to you if you masturbated or indulged in unsavory practices such as oral sex!

But the reality check is that the majority of people in past generations more than likely paid as little mind to what was said as we would today. What you do in private is nobody’s business but yours.

Sexual adventures are some of the best adventures you can have. The woman who opens herself up, (no pun intended here), to new and exciting sex is the woman who has given herself the key to erotic pleasuring for life. What a gift to yourself and your lucky partner! The key to indulging your erotic fantasies is twofold – a partner willing and eager to go on these adventures with you and a bond of unbreakable, absolute trust you have with each other. After that the sky’s the limit as far as sex goes.

1000 more readers reveal their thoughts on their internal self-external.

When asked how you feel about her figure changing, you do not restrain. Kvetched on some big bellies, arms fluttering above and the evaporation of the male attention. But you also squeezed a genuine appreciation for their bodies, that many of you know, we have a long way. As you get older, you are more likely to see their body as a tool to extend its life, not just an ornament that is admired, notes Margo Maine, PhD, author of the myth of the body. So while you may be longing a bit for a very nubile, most of you are quite happy with what you see. Here, we tell you what he said.

The percent of women over 40 who are satisfied with their bodies: 57%

A sense of humor helps

I recently discussed changes in the body of the individual with a friend my age. He said, `What, you think they now look the same as I did in 18? We all had a bit of wear and tear. ‘Yes, I thought, you have the `wear and tear. ‘I had a couple of infants from seven-pound explorers camped in my uterus for the better part of a year, singing `99 bottles of beer on the wall. ‘ – Read Cornelia, 46

Lost and found
Weight gained by 52% after 40:10 of pounds of age or older
However, 13% reported losing that amount.

Older = more happy
Acceptance of the body grows candle birthday cake: 56% of those in their 40s to 58% after age fifty.

Record this in the mirror
The confidence and experience trump youth and the image at any time. – Allan Wood, 57

The price of Pudge
You gain 30 pounds for $ 250,000? 55% said no. But consider the 22% gain 10 pounds for $ 25,000. Now that ‘s flexibility to you.

Coloréeme to fit
It covered my gray for many years but recently decided to let it show. I think a fit body says more about your self that makes her hair. – Beverley Coleman, 61

Who is this person?
My mom told me once that she looked down a wrinkled old hand and was scared to do it was his own. I also struggle with the fact that my appearance is changing.

What parts of your body you most would like to fix?

the stomach 59%
those thighs 19%
8% said end
neck that 6%
these arms 4%
4% said nothing: I wouldn ‘t change anything, I won all these wrinkles and marks.

That silence internal criticism
Was growing heavy, which gave me tremendous feelings about my body. But when they came my 40s, my world turned suddenly no more about my weight. Still hate my end in a bathing suit, but those moments are passing, not a constant concern. – Walking to Martha, 47

Suit retired
78% have given up in bikinis.

He ‘s not me, it ‘ s you
My biggest complaint is not with how I feel but how TV portrays women my age. Actresses use advertisements only if they are my age selling medicine, diapers or depends Insurance. – Zonder Janna, 59

My body, my child
I worry of my editions of the body-image of my daughter 13 years. When she called the big attempt to help its messages of rejection from the outside. But I feel terrible thinking I will wrap it up with my thighs. – Dawn Mayeda, 53

What ‘s more worrying about getting older?
1. Comba and wrinkles on the face and body
2. Impossible-to-lose fat
3. Fear of developing a condition related to chronic health

Tough love
When was 60, I found a lump in my LEF? ty of the chest had a modified radical mastectomy. Now, instead of worries about a poochy stomach and hips of the saddlebag, I look at my body and I think Amazon warrior how tough it is. Took a direct hit and survived. – Fernando Jain, 63

“I told that bastard,” my girlfriend said huffily, “I didn’t come! And he says, ‘Well, then, you better go,’ and starts laughing his stupid head off.”

“What an asshole,” I said.

“Yeah,” she said, “Especially since we were in my car.”

“And he’s your husband,” I added.

“Gawd, don’t remind me,” she said.

And thus concluded yet another of hundreds of similar conversations I’ve had with my girlfriends about, how to tell a guy you didn’t come and then help him help you. Because as it turns out, about a third of women don’t orgasm during intercourse.

Which makes me wonder, where do they orgasm? Or do they orgasm? Have we become a nation of female martyrs and thespians? Faking it and making it seem okay so long as someone is coming (I’ll just lay here in the dark and listen to you moan). It just won’t do, which is why I’ve taken it upon myself to provide counsel in the art of getting a guy to get it done.

Strategy #1: This involves putting the “request” in terms he understands. As in, “The wide receiver fumbled and there’s no way he’s going to make a touchdown.” Or, for the nature lovers, “The squirrel can’t find the acorn, yet again.” Or for the traveling types, “Did you know “Australia” just froze over?” And finally for the golfers, “Nice form, too bad you haven’t made a hole in one or can’t sink a long put yet.”

I think you follow my drift here. The reason this approach is so effective is that if the guy gets it, he’ll probably laugh. A laughing guy is a cooperative guy.

But let’s say he’s starts arguing with you about how unlikely a cold snap is Down Under. That’s when you need to advance to Strategy #2. Please follow these directions precisely:

Step one: Prop yourself up in bed, resting comfortably against some pillows. Adopt a dignified-aloof-bordering-on-sternly-distracted countenance. (I’m not sure what that is but a close guess is good enough.)

Step two: Sigh loudly—loud enough to rouse rudely he-who-is-already-advancing-into-REM-sleep. More..

By dating expert Lisa Steadman

After a little research, I compiled these fundamental single-gal necessities:

#1: The Third-Date Outfit

The first date’s a formality. The second establishes mutual attraction. And the third date is all about turning up the heat. So whether it’s those saucy black boots you splurged on at Bloomies, or that curve-hugging skirt, or even that sensual spaghetti-strap top, a single girl’s gotta have something that makes her feel like a million bucks for that rare but fabulous third date.

#2: Girlfriends

We make each other laugh, soothe each other through sadness, and stick together even through the toughest breakups, makeups, and in-between times. Gotta have our girlfriends!

#3: Self-Confidence

Singles should always follow this simple but effective mantra: Always look like you know what you’re doing and that you’re having fun doing it!
Singles should always follow this simple but effective mantra: Always look like you know what you’re doing and that you’re having fun doing it!
Single men love confident women and will follow you all the way from the produce department to frozen foods just to find a way to say hi! When they do, smile confidently and say hi back.

#4: A Passport

After a big breakup, I decided to take my dream Mediterranean vacation. Somewhere between exploring ancient ruins and hiking a 12-mile gorge with a cute Air Force officer, I realized my ex would have hated this trip, which made me appreciate my experience all the more. And whenever I look at my passport, I smile at the fond memories of my singlehood adventure.

#5: The Perfect Workout

Working out is no longer about logging that hour of cardio on the treadmill. It’s about finding what works best for you. So get out of that gym and have some fun! Whether it’s hiking, biking, Pilates, yoga, or some combination thereof, hop to it!

#6: A Financial Planner

Most of our mothers went from their father’s house to the sorority house to their husband’s house. Not today’s single gal. Most of us make enough money to live alone, give to charity, and still go on that amazing weekend getaway with the girls. But after awhile, it’s time to get smart. Start planning for the future. And that’s where a financial advisor comes in. Even in these troubled times, investing in the future is a safe bet.

#7: A Sense of Adventure

As we get older and our responsibilities grow, we often find ourselves feeling saddled with commitments like mortgage payments, family obligations, job duties. But a single gal must never lose her sense of adventure. Whether that means jumping out of a plane, buying that fire-engine red dress, or flying to Vegas for an impromptu weekend of decadence, go for it!

#8: A Hair Stylist

Most women put a lot of stock — and product — in our hair. And if we’re not happy, it affects how we present ourselves to the world. So if you haven’t already, splurge a little and find the perfect stylist to meet your needs. You won’t regret it!

#9: The Right Technology

I used to live with a boyfriend who had a surround-sound system. When we broke up, I held off on buying a new TV, speakers, or any other electronic devices for a long time. My logic was: The next boyfriend will have all that. After several short-term relationships involving tech-savvy men and their toys, I eventually invested in my own system. Whether it’s a home theater system, a decent computer, or just an iPod with your fave tunes, it’s time to take stock of what you may be waiting for a mate to provide. And immediately provide it for yourself.

So there you have it. The top nine essentials for today’s single gal. May you learn it, love it, and live by it. (And with that flirty self-confidence and perfectly coifed ‘do, may you look good doing it, too!) Article Source

1. Switch to a sheer foundation. “Pores get larger as we age and a full-coverage foundation settles into them, making them look even bigger,” says Pat Wexler, MD, a dermatologist in New York City. A better bet: Use a light, hydrating formula and apply in a thin layer.

2. Go golden. “Skin loses pigment — and radiance — as you age. So either switch to a foundation with a warmer tint, add a drop of liquid bronzer to your favorite foundation, or make bronzing powder part of your makeup regimen,” says Sandy Linter, a consulting makeup artist for Lancome. Try Clinique True Bronze Bronzing Gel ($19, clinique.com), Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Sun-Blush Illuminator ($32, esteelauder.com), Elizabeth Arden Mineral Bronzing Powder ($32, elizabetharden.com) or YSL Tresor D’Afrique Bronzer Sun Powder ($72, yslbeautyus.com).

3. Cover blemishes correctly. “Never use an undereye concealer to hide a pimple — it slides right off,” Wexler says. “I prefer an oil-free concealing pencil. It’s opaque enough to cover but dry enough that it stays put.” Her favorite: Shiseido The Makeup Corrector Pencil ($17, sephora.com).

4. Put on two layers of moisturizer. Apply one before foundation, then pat on a second, very light coat over your makeup. “This gives your skin a dewy finish and an extra dose of hydration,” says Audrey Kunin, MD, a dermatologist in Kansas City.

5. Create the illusion of lift. “Use an illuminating cream or powder on your upper cheekbone, the center of your forehead, and just below your lower lip,” says Laura Geller, a makeup artist in New York City. “The first two spots make the top of the face appear lifted, the latter detracts from sagginess around the chin.” Good for most skin tones: DiorSkin Shimmer Powder in Pop Diamond ($43, sephora.com) or Laura Geller Liquid Candlelight Face and Body Glow ($24, qvc.com).

6. Use hot flash-proof makeup. “Water-resistant eyeliner and mascara stay put when your body temp soars,” says Geller, who also recommends keeping powder to a minimum since it cakes up on a damp face. Try Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Waterproof Eye Brightening Mascara ($8, drugstores).

7. Get cheeky. “A rosy color on the apples of your cheeks brightens not-so-radiant skin,” says makeup artist Bobbi Brown. Two we like: Jane Iredale Cream Blush in Clarity ($26, dermstore.com) and Bobbi Brown Cheek Tint in Sheer Raspberry ($22, bobbibrowncosmetics.com).

8. Book brow time. “Eyebrow shaping takes five years off your face. Have it done by a pro, then follow the lines yourself. Thinking you can create the right shape is like thinking you can cut your own hair,” says Kimara Ahnert, a makeup artist in New York City.

9. Stop waxing your brows after 40. “You’re killing the hair root,” Linter warns. “If you ever want to grow back those hairs, you’re out of luck.”

10. Do a mini eye-lift. “Use a brow pencil or powder along the top line of your arches to make the whole eye appear raised,” Geller says.

11. Stop eyeliner bleed. “Apply liner as you usually do, then use a cotton swab to subtly smudge the line at the outer corners, directing it upward,” Linter says. “Skip this step and the color will settle into your smile lines, making you look tired.”

12. Don’t neglect your nails. Keeping your tips buffed to a shine — or polished in a color with some blue or pink in it (too much yellow accentuates sallowness) — will make your hands look younger. A lacquer that works on almost everyone: OPI Nail Polish in Otherwise Engaged ($7, opi.com for stores), an opalescent pink.

13. Kiss dark lipstick good-bye. A very deep, dark lip hue is unattractive if it bleeds into the creases around your mouth. Soft, neutral shades such as rose or peach for fair to medium tones and sheer browns and berries for dark skin are the most flattering. Try Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Venetian Rose ($25, sephora.com) for fair to medium skin, or Laura Mercier Shimmer Lip Colour in Candy Pink ($22, lauramercier.com) for dark skin.

14. Be wary of too many layers. The whole “no long hair after a certain age”‘ thing is total bunk, but be careful of a cut that’s too shaggy, says Ted Gibson, a New York City stylist, “If your hair is graying, avoid lots of layers, because they make wiry strands even more stubborn and unruly.”

15. Think bangs, not Botox. Use your hair to camouflage forehead lines. But ensure that bangs are brow-skimming and fringed (not blunt) at the ends so the look isn’t too severe.

16. Skip the jaw-length bob. A style that hits right at the jawbone emphasizes any sags. “Go for something about an inch longer,” Gibson suggests. “It’s just as chic, but it hides slack skin.”

17. Give mousse another try. If your last encounter with this foamy volumizer was when Madonna wore headbands, here’s the scoop: There’s a new mousse in town, reformulated so it still thickens but no longer stiffens. “A golf ball-size dollop applied to damp hair plumps your strands but still leaves them soft,” says Boston-based stylist Gretta Monahan, who likes Dove Body and Lift Volumizing Mousse ($3, drugstores).

18. Use a boar-bristle brush. “Gray hair is often kinky and hard to smooth,” says Farah Reid, director of education at New York City’s Blow salon. “Using a boar-bristle brush while blow-drying grabs and holds on to hair, creating more tension than you’d get with plastic or metal bristles.” Try the Mason Pearson Boar Bristle Pocket Mixture Brush ($90, beauty.com).

19. Don’t shampoo every day. Sudsing up more than three or four times a week can dry your hair and fade your color. “As you get older your scalp produces less oil, so you don’t need to wash as often,” says Kyle White, a colorist at New York City’s Oscar Blandi Salon. “But if you just can’t get used to the idea of a day without cleaning your hair [or you work out -- and sweat -- a lot], get in the shower and rinse with just water, or spray a dry shampoo into your roots, then brush it through.” Try Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder ($34, bumbleandbumble.com).

20. Add a few highlights by your face. “It brightens up your skin and softens the look of fine lines,” says Jason Backe, a colorist at Gibson’s salon.

21. You’re going gray where? If you want to match the hair down there to what’s on your head, try a color kit safe for sensitive skin (look for something made without ammonia). The creator of Betty Hair Color, Nancy Jarecki, points out that if you’re tired of the natural look, going orange or hot pink might perk things up a bit. (And you thought the Brazilian was your only option.) Betty Color $15, bettybeauty.com) comes in 10 shades.

22. Try a hair growth inhibitor. A prescription cream like Vaniqa or an over-the-counter option such as Aveeno Positively Smooth Moisturizing Lotion ($8, drugstores) reduces the growth of coarse body hair that can be caused by hormone fluctuations.

23. Invest in a magnifying mirror. To zero in on stray hairs — around your eyebrows and elsewhere — skip the reading glasses and pick up a small magnifying mirror with suction cups. If you stick it on the bathroom cabinet, you may be surprised at what you’ll see in a different light.

24. Peptides. We repeat: peptides. Every single dermatologist we interviewed insists it is the most effective ingredient in serums and moisturizers to firm and lift. One peptide-packed product that works on all skin types: Kinerase C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment ($96, sephora.com).

25. Add retinol to your regimen. Whereas peptides plump and firm, retinol (or tretinoin, its Rx cousin, in products like Retin-A and Renova) smooths and evens out skin tone. Try ROC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Serum ($22, drugstores).

26. Breaking out? Don’t even think about borrowing your teen’s medication. “Their acne products contain benzoyl peroxide, which is too drying for older skin. A product made with salicylic acid, antioxidants, and calming ingredients will work just as well without leaving your skin dry and tight,” says Wexler. We like Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Lotion ($8, drugstores) and Pat Wexler Acnescription Overnight Acne Repair Lotion ($20, bathandbodyworks.com).

27. Hormone surge? Up the ante. “Women can get cystic pimples well into their 40s,” says Denver plastic surgeon Christine Rogers, MD. If you tend to erupt the week before your period (or, if you’re perimenopausal, around the time you feel like you’re PMSing), exfoliate with an at-home scrub or peel twice a month to keep pores clear and slough off dead skin cells, clearing the way for (and boosting the potency of ) your treatment products, says Los Angeles dermatologist Zein Obagi. At-home scrubs that promise results without lasting redness: Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Gentle ($65, katesomerville.com) and Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Pore Scrub ($9, drugstores).

28. Fight fine lines — in the shower. Before you step under the water, massage a drop of grapeseed oil into the skin around your eyes for 10 minutes, Obagi says: “It will improve skin texture.” The oil is moisturizing, yes, but it also contains antioxidants that fight wrinkle-causing free radicals, which are deposited on your skin by UV rays and pollution during the day.

29. Sleep on two pillows. “Keeping your head elevated prevents fluid from collecting around your eyes during the night and causing puffiness in the morning,” says San Antonio-based dermatologist Vivian Bucay, MD.

30. Put your eye cream in the fridge. “The cold temperature shrinks blood vessels and helps to minimize undereye bags,” Obagi says.

31. Moisturize in layers. “For maximum plumping, follow your regular lotion with a heavy cream or facial oil. On really bad beauty days, I put on oil and wait an hour before looking in the mirror,” admits makeup artist Bobbi Brown, who swears by Bobbi Brown Extra Face Oil ($60, bobbibrowncosmetics.com). A 10-minute moisturizing mask also plumps you up fast. We like Sonya Dakar Hydrating Blue Mask ($67, sonyadakar.com).

32. Baby your neck and chest. Because the skin there is so thin, these areas generally don’t age as well as your face — especially if you’ve been lax on sunscreen. “Using a moisturizer with retinoids or peptides will help,” says Miami and New York City-based dermatologist Fredric Brandt, MD. “But your skin in these areas is sensitive, so don’t use it every night — that could leave you overly red and flaky.”

33. If all else fails, go Italian. “Skin luminosity makes you look younger,” Rogers says. “Once a year, I go bike riding in Italy, where I can eat all I want and look at gorgeous Italian men all day. It makes my complexion glow.”

34. Remove stains at home. Combine equal parts baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, and use it to brush your teeth once a week. “This combo removes surface stains — and it’s totally safe,” says New York City cosmetic dentist Gregg Lituchy, DDS.

35. Follow the 20-minute rule. “Whitening toothpastes don’t stay on the teeth long enough to work,” Lituchy says. “A product should sit for at least 20 minutes to provide any kind of noticeable result.” To lighten at home, try Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal ($45 for a two-week supply, drugstores), which should be worn for 30 minutes twice a day.

36. Consider porcelain veneers. “Many women over 40 were given tetracycline as children, which permanently darkened their teeth,” Lituchy says. “Whiteners alone probably won’t bleach out the stains, but porcelain veneers instantly and permanently give you a white smile.” Veneers start at about $500 per tooth.

37. Get a dental facelift. Cheek sagging is often caused by receding gums as we age. “If you have your teeth subtly built up with thin veneers or bonding, it stretches the tissue of the upper lip and gives you a natural facelift sans surgery,” says New York cosmetic dentist Jeff Golub-Evans, DDS.

38. Wear a scent that’s not too spicy. Fragrance can make you feel fresh, femme fatale-ish, or even formidable. But don’t overdo it. “During menopause, when your body temperature can spike spontaneously, you should avoid intense scents. Heated up, they become cloying,” says Debbie Wild, fragrance and lifestyle director for Jo Malone. A safe but still sexy pick: Jo Malone Honeysuckle and Jasmine Cologne ($55, jomalone.com).

39. Make your scent endure. Another by-product of dry skin? “Fragrance doesn’t last as long,” Wild says. What helps: slathering on body lotion before you spritz to give your skin a slightly tacky surface — and something for your scent to latch on to.

40. Raise your brows for photos. “This gives the appearance of an instant facelift,” Kunin says. (If you aren’t Botoxing, this is your payoff.)

What is Skin Aging ?

Skin Aging is a very common type of skin disorders but is very dangerous also.

According to researches there are two distinct types of aging. Aging caused by the genes we inherit is called intrinsic (internal) aging. The other type of aging is known as extrinsic (external) aging and is caused by milieu factors, such as exposure to the sun’s rays. Aging skin therefore appears thinner, more pale, and translucent. Large pigmented spots (called age spots, liver spots, or lentigos) may appear in sun-exposed areas. Innate aging is the natural process of the aging, it begins with the age of about 20′s but the signs of intrinsic aging are typically not visible for decades. Whereas the extrinsic aging is caused mainly by sun exposure and other factors like: reiterative facial expressions, gravity, sleeping positions, and smoking.

Here you find all terms related to Skin Aging, like symptoms, causes and effective treatment.
What are the causes of Skin Aging ?

Causes of skin aging are as follows:

1) For internal (intrinsic) skin aging the cause is simple as it is a natural process which is because of time factor as according to age skin collagen production get slow and losses its elasticity. Dead skin cells also do not shed fast and new skin cells stops increasing

2) External or (extrinsic) skin aging which is cause primarily due to environmental factors including sun exposure. With repeated exposure to the sun, the skin loses the ability to overhaul itself, and the damage accumulates. Scientific studies have shown that repeated ultraviolet (UV) exposure breaks down collagen and vitiates the synthesis of new collagen
What are the symptoms of Skin Aging ?

Following are the symptoms of skin aging :

1) Skin get more thinner and fragile

2) Reduction in sensibility of sense, touch etc

3) Healing of wounded skin takes long time

4) Fine wrinkles

5) Dry skin cause sometimes itching

6) Inabity to cool off through sweating

7) fine wrinkles and a mottled complexion.

What is the cause of split ends?

Hit is not cut, the hair can grow to a length of 40 to 80 cms. During its long stay on the scalp, the hair is exposed to innumerable physical and chemical traumas: combing and brushing, shampooing, weathering and chemical treatments. These factors
are all the more damaging to hair because hair is a dead structure that lacks the power of self-repair. The cumulative effect of all these injuries is the gradual wearing down of the cuticle scales – these are totally lost at the tips of the hair andthis resultsin split ends.
What can we do about split ends?

Though we cannot refrain from injuring our hair, careful grooming of the hair is likely to delay the appearance of splits’: avoid rubber bands, spiky brushes and combs; avoid combing wet hair. Conditioners protect the ‘hair against physical injury to some extent, so use them regularly. Once splits have appeared, it is a good idea to trim off the straggly ends to give a healthy appearance to the hair.
Treatment & Care Tips for Split Ends

Wet hair should not be brushed.

The juice of leaves of bhongra massaged on the head is effective hair tonic.

Avoid rubber bands, spiky brushes and sharp clips.

The oil extracted from the seeds of sagvan is massaged on the head to check premature loss of hair.

Apply a little lemon juice with 4 tablespoon of coconut milk to the scalp. Wash the hair after an hour. Repeat this every week.

Get your hair trimmed every 4-5 weeks even if you are growing it.

The oil extracted from rohisa, briskly rubbed on the head helps in growing hairs.

The paste made from powdered seeds of shana with coconut / sesame / castor oil is used as hair tonic.

To control the problem of falling hair, massage with olive oil. Dip towel in hot water and then cover your head with that towel. Do it again when it get cools. Do this for 15 minutes before shampooing.
